5. Inhale and hold the breath. Move the left leg from the body and, keeping both feet together and the knees of the floor, rest on the hands (arms straight) and keep the body in a straight line from head to foot.

6. Exhale and lower the body to the floor. In this position, only 8 portions of the body come in contact with the floor: the two feet, two knees, two hands, chest and forehead.

7. Inhale and bend back as much as possible bending the spine to the maximum.

8. Exhale and lift the body of the floor. Keep the feet and heels on the floor.

9. Inhale and bring the right foot along the level of the hands; left foot and knee should touch the ground. Look up, bending the spine slightly (same position as #4)

10. Exhale and bring the left leg forward. Keep the knees straight and bring the head down to the knees as in the third position.

11. Raise the arms overhead and bend backward inhaling. As in Position 2.

12. Exhale and drop the arms and relax.

You have now completed one round. Perform as many rounds as possible in multiples of 3. Ideally you want to aim for 6 rounds minimum and up to a maximum of 30. It only takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on your speed and intensity and is best practiced with as little clothing as possible before an open air window first thing in the morning.

Let’s say, “stop binge eating” is your desired goal. However, if this is how you describe your goal, then you will find it hard to achieve because it does not focus on the positive or anything tangible. Focusing on the positive is the way to bulimia recovery.

Reframe your goal by answering these questions:
– What would you like to accomplish today?
– Who can assist you in dealing with this difficulty?

MAKE YOUR GOAL SMART!

Step 1 – “S” is for Specific.

Notice what you are thinking and feeling just before a binging episode.

Are you always hungry just before a binge takes place? If so decide to embrace a goal like “eat 3 healthy meals a day at 3 to 4 hour intervals.”

What does this really mean? It means to insure you obtain the recommended daily amount of nutrients, which are essential for a healthy functioning body: eat three meals per day – leaving 3 to 4 hours between each main meal. This is the way to frame a Specific goal that will lead you to stop binging and start your bulimia recovery.

Step 2 – “M” is for Measurable

Keep track of your progress. To do this; make your goal Measurable. Your goal “eat 3 healthy meals at 3 hour intervals” can be measured very easily.

Step 3 – “A” is for Achievable.

When you break your goal down into small tasks your goal becomes more Achievable!

The way to do this is to create sub-goals – you know… bite-size pieces. For example, take one day at a time. Today plan what you are going to eat tomorrow. The sub-goal could be: go shopping for the ingredients. You are on your way to bulimia recovery!

Step 4 – “R” is for Relevant

Make your goal Relevant to you. Don’t do it for others, if you do, you are unlikely to stay with it… do it for YOU. You can beat bulimia and enjoy the fruits of being in bulimia recovery. Binging will be a thing of the past.

Step 5 – “T” is for Timely.

Allow yourself enough Time to achieve your goal. Set a realistic time frame – changing your eating patterns will take 21 days or longer.

For example,

Week 1 – eat three balanced meals a day. If a small healthy snack is necessary between meals… then have one!

Week 2 – focus on success

Week 3 – if you are feeling confident choose to experiment with foods you consider risky or conducive to binging.

Everyone learned to walk before they ran. Make time every day to review your goal to see how you have progressed. It reinforces your motivation.

Liposuction is body contouring. Body contouring is liposuction? That pretty much described how little I knew about liposuction at first. In fact, going in for cosmetic surgery had never even entered my mind until a few years ago.

My body used to be like a yo-yo. Diet and exercise would work to some extent but then fail me. It failed to get rid of that extra bit of fat on my body. The final part I’d tried so hard to slim. It wasn’t like I wanted to be an anorexic, nor become a paperweight model. It was the outline of my body. The shape around my thighs would always be out of proportion after dieting. Feeling let down, I’d drop my diet and exercise regime. The weight would come back. Things would then get to a point where I found myself back at square one, wanting to give it another try. It was after my last ordeal, and talking for hours with a friend, that she suggested liposuction to me.

This wasn’t what I wanted to hear. But my friend also knew what it took to drag me out of self-pity mode. A wake up call. The inaugural slap to the face. At the time though, I just walked away and decided to ignore what she’d said. But her words caught me again a few weeks later. I was just about to start a new diet and exercise regime when I came across an ad on TV. It was cheesy to say the least, but it gave me the idea. I looked online and discovered that there was a lot about this procedure that seemed to suit me.

I was generally healthy. Not taking any medication. A non-smoker. The inability to lose that remaining stubborn little bit of fat after exercising and dieting for months.

It was then that I did some more homework and looked around. There were a lot of scary places. They sounded like bargain basement procedures held in places that even looked like basements. However, with perseverance, I finally did find some decent places. They were honest and answered all the questions I had.

Anyway, another few weeks later and I made a decision about where to get it done. They made it clear that this was no alternative to healthy diet and exercise. It was more like that extra push needed to get past that final hurdle. That little extra something to help ensure a figure that was in sync with the rest of my body. They discussed the various methods available. Finally, it was settled on the most common technique done with a local anesthetic.

A little while after getting the liposuction done, I called up my friend. I thanked her. She thanked me too because, as it turned out, she had been considering the same thing for herself.
